This Friday, April 5 there will be an open house at MichaelKate from 5 - 8pm. The FunkZone in Santa Barbara is going to be the place to be (again) as 5 other galleries and art spaces open their doors, with new art, new ideas and new energy. It is one of the oldest parts of town, but the current vibe is pretty good. So, my recommendation is to come and see what’s happening this Friday. More information here.

MichaelKate Interiors and Gallery presents a new exhibition of abstract art by Wayne Hoffman, Linda Saccoccio and Pat Calonne.

We have been showing artists recently from Belfast to Los Angeles and points beyond. This show is special because it features Santa Barbara based artists.
The work is abstract and uses a visual language of form, color and line to create compositions which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.

This is a show not to miss.

The exhibition runs through March 10th.

Please join us with reception for the artists which is open to the public and will take place from 5 - 8p on Friday Feb. 8th.

At 6:30p there will be a panel discussion with the artists, moderated by Charles Donelan (SB Independent).

This is a great opportunity to see the exhibition, meet the artists and see which works are available for purchase.

Refreshments will be served.

Los Angeles Artists showing with Santa Barbara Artists

MichaelKate Interiors and Gallerresents a new art exhibit of contemporary art featuring two artists with roots in Santa Barbara paired with two Artists currently living in Los Angeles.

Sheldon Figoten • Gary Palmer • Dara Mark • Dug Uyesaka

This exhibit brings 40 pieces of modern contemporary art that will be displayed in the 10,000 square foot showroom that is MichaelKate. This is an unique opportunity to visualize works by these highly regarded artists in a vibrant interior showroom that promotes a style and grace based on the beauty of clean design, function and uncluttered comfort. The art creates many different moods and environments as it interacts with MichaelKate’s mid-century, modern, contemporary and transitional genres.

(Catherine Gee is doing a bio piece and I am waiting to put a quote from that for each artist here). Then…

“It has been interesting to reach out to Los Angeles artists for this show” says curator, Brad Nack, “I like the idea of bringing artists up from LA to show in Santa Barbara.”
